Some Background Parkins works as a manager of public affairs for the Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company. In addition to his work in the legislature, Perillo is the interim executive director of Valley Emergency Medical Services. The winner of Tuesday’s primary will face Democrat Adam Heller, who currently serves on the city’s Board of Apportionment and Taxation, in the Nov. 8 elections. Fundraising Donations to the two candidates evince a split of sorts within the Shelton Republican party. For example, Parkins has received donations from Mayor Mark Lauretti and several members of his family. Meanwhile Perillo’s campaign treasurer is Noreen McGorty, a Republican Alderwoman who represents the Fourth Ward. Perillo has also received donations from Anthony Simonetti, a First Ward Alderman who also serves as the chairman of the local Republican Town Committee, as well as Fourth Ward Alderman James Capra. Other Republican members of the Board of Aldermen — President John Anglace, Lynne Farrell, Eric McPherson, and Stanley Kudej — have contributed to both campaigns.
